Mentorship

Thanks to the positive experiences I’ve had with mentorship, I feel that it’s important to share my experiences and to support the people who are where I was.

This is why I co-founded the Women’s Astronomy & Astrophysics Mentorship Program with Isabella Macias at the University of Florida, and why I continue to seek out opportunities to mentor students.

Science education and pedagogy are special interests of mine. Throughout my time at the University of Florida, I taught science part time at different levels from K-12, implementing my own lesson plans using inquiry-based learning and formative assessment.

These are methods that I bring with me into every classroom / outreach event, in order to bring out students' curiosity and participation.
